Ingredients

  • 2 kg of pork ribs (you can also use beef or chicken ribs)
  • 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional, if you like it spicy)
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • A pinch of salt
  • Olive oil (for greasing the grill)

Instructions

Prepare the ribs:

  1. If you're using pork ribs, it's best to soak them in cold water for a few hours to remove excess blood.
  2. Then, pat the ribs dry with paper towels.

Prepare the marinade:

  • In a large bowl, mix the barbecue sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, chopped garlic, cayenne pepper (if using), a pinch of salt, and pepper until all the ingredients are well combined.

Marinate the ribs:

  1. Place the ribs in the marinade, making sure they are evenly coated.
  2. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or preferably overnight to allow the meat to absorb the flavors of the marinade.

Grill the ribs:

  1. Before grilling, take the ribs out of the refrigerator to come to room temperature.
  2. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (around 180-200 degrees Celsius) and grease it with olive oil to prevent the meat from sticking.
  3. Remove the ribs from the marinade, draining off any excess sauce, and save the remaining sauce for basting later.
  4. Place the ribs on the grill and grill for about 15-20 minutes on each side until they are browned and well-cooked.

Baste with barbecue sauce:

  • While grilling, regularly baste the ribs with the reserved barbecue sauce to enhance the flavor and prevent the meat from drying out.

Serving:

  1. Once the ribs are done, take them off the grill and let them rest for a moment to allow the meat to settle.
  2. Then, slice the ribs into portions and serve them on plates.
  3. You can serve them with your favorite sides, such as bread, salads, fries, or grilled vegetables.
